Monday collage making down at the day care centre, it always takes a while to get going cos they've never done anything like it in their lives & just don't get it until they see a picture starting to take shape. we're working on a group mural next week.
Nothing to show from art class, my muse hasnt left me, its just not quite reaching the paintbrush.
And then the brownies came to the fire station for their fire saftey type badges, quite a lot of complex concepts to get across to hyper little uns, but theyre quite clued up, which shows that the whole big fire service modernisation thing of pushing fire prevention is filtering through.
Proud of daughter Ishie who demonstrated the breathing apperatus without complaint despite losing clumps of hair which happens to us girlies, why do you think firemen all have short hair ? yeah she didnt panic at all , i do ! i hate it, but then i generally associate it with pitch black, thick smoke, extreem heat exhaustion, confined spaces, carrying fecking heavy hoses and heavy dummies, or in the case of real live incidents, live electric cables & feck knows what else around the next pitch black 200degree sweat soaked corner. nah, it may be rock & roll, but it is scary.

I used to love fire engines when I was wee - probably due to living right by a firestation, and having them visit our school on a regular basis. Of course, that particular obsession would eventually lead to the...'incident'...
And it's not just women who lose clumps of hair, I'll have you know!
i was meaning that the hair gets ripped out when you take the rubber mask off, rather than thru the male aging process...
the incident ? sure you told me, did you get hit by one ?
More like I hit one...
And I was talking about rubber masks too!
I think your assuption that only women have long hair to be sexist and insulting in the extreme!
i'm talking about fire fighters ye PHouL ! i have NEVER met a male firefighter with long hair yet. and did you know, theyre not allowed beards?
i appear to get away with both.
Why are they not allowed Beards?
Is it becasue they might get confused with the women?
Real men don't have long hair. But they do have bears, which is kind of ironic, when you think about it.
real men have bears ? i thought that was only bryan ?
in the ancient days of fire fighting long before wars, they were obliged to have long beards, before they'd thought of great inventions like holding an air hose betweeen their teeth so they could breathe in smoke, yes they were told to wet thier beards & stick them in their mouths & breathe thru them to protect them from smoke inhalation. needless to say this method has been revised somewhat, cos it was shit.
theyre not allowed beards now, cos facial hair prevents a proper seal with the rubber face mask, its in our contracts.
annnd the fashists make me take my peircings out, pfff.
Bryan has a bear??
